About the job you’re considering
We are seeking an experienced POS Tester with strong expertise in retail Point of Sale (POS) systems, payment processing, API testing, and end-to-end transaction validation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating POS enhancements, ensuring seamless integration across retail ecosystems, performing functional and regression testing, and contributing to test automation initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, and cross-functional technology teams within an Agile delivery environment.
Your role
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing for POS application enhancements, ensuring high-quality releases.
- Validate complex retail workflows, payment transactions, promotions, loyalty programs, and end-to-end store operations.
- Execute integration testing across POS, store systems, mobile applications, web applications, and backend services.
- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, ReadyAPI, or similar platforms, including request/response validation.
- Verify data flow, transaction processing, and database integrity across POS and downstream systems through backend and SQL validation.
- Analyze application logs, identify defects, troubleshoot integration issues, and maintain comprehensive test documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments, leverage Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management, and contribute to automation frameworks and regression suites.
Your skills and experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Retail POS Testing with strong expertise in payment systems and transaction lifecycle validation.
- Strong understanding of retail store operations, POS ecosystems, payment integrations, backend system orchestration, and end-to-end transaction testing.
- Proven experience in API testing using Postman, Swagger, REST services, or similar API testing tools.
- Experience with backend integration testing, database validation, and SQL Server testing to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, preferably Robot Framework, and automated regression testing.
- Experience leveraging Generative AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot for test design, defect analysis, test data generation, and automation development.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively across onshore and offshore teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Nice to Have:
- Certifications in Agile, Scrum, Azure, or related testing disciplines.
- Experience in retail payment gateways, loyalty systems, order management, or omnichannel commerce platforms.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $68,911 - $161,544.
