About the role

Role Overview: Seeking a PLC Systems Engineer to lead technical aspects of product releases in the Security sector, ensuring the protection of millions globally. The role demands a creative self-starter with a proven track record in designing and programming PLC systems, and the ability to manage projects and teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical features for new product releases and sustaining activities.
  • Translate user requirements into top-level designs.
  • Oversee engineering research, development, and manufacturing on significant projects.
  • Design and develop PLC-controlled systems, including hardware selection and integration.
  • Configure and program managed switches.
  • Rapidly prototype new features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Support field engineers during installations and commissioning.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of PLC programs and configurations.
  • Collaborate across teams for feature integration and verification.
  • Lead systems risk management for complex CT scanners.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Recognized technical expert with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proven technical leadership in a matrix environment.
  • 7+ years in PLC programming and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of system design, software development, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in PLC protocols and languages, especially ladder logic.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols like Profinet and Modbus.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens products and toolsets.
  • Proficiency in HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Experience with in-field installations and integrations.
  • Knowledge of managed switches and network topology.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Certifications in PLC programming or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Experience with CT systems design and regulatory compliance testing.

TRAVEL:

  • This role involves traveling, up to 50%, to client sites for system installations and support. Domestic and International Travel.
