Who will you be working with?
Vapor Stone Rail Systems is a part of WABTEC Corp and has been in Plattsburgh NY since 1998. We offer a wide range of products and services for trains including HVAC units, Doors, Door systems along with an array of aftermarket parts and services.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the team at Vapor Stone Rail Systems, you will be responsible is responsible for assessing current material inventory levels position against the production schedule and plant capacity. and using that data to improve efficiency in delivery to customers and reduce costs. Responsibilities include monitoring and collecting data on current operations scheduling, including inventory lead times, scheduling, product sourcing, production, and logistics. This position will require collecting data on each step within the supply chain statistical data on the above requirements to propose improvements and actions and use it to recommend actions procurement and scheduling need to that will maintain delivery expectations or expedite and/or escalate priority orders for on time delivery to customers and manage aging orders.
Additional duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyze and document existing business practices.
- Define standard business processes and solutions.
- Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for client engagements.
- Understands the business issues and data challenges of end user's organization.
- Identifies organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement.
- Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
- Leads testing efforts, providing guidance and supervision to end users to ensure adequate and thorough testing.
- Works with division personnel to identify required changes.
- Communicates needed changes to development team.
- Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
What do we want to know about you?
Education& Experience:
- a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area or equivalent/comparable work experience is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel.
- Thorough knowledge of business processes and computerized business applications, especially Oracle Applications.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skill, Abilities:
- Ability to analyze business situations and problems.
- Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
What will your typical day look like?
- You will be working with several team members on site in various capacities to accomplish daily goals.
What about the physical demands of the job?
- Ability to work at a desk & on computer for at least 8 hours per day, with occasional needs on the production floor.
- Wearing PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, hard hat, bump cap cut resistant gloves at various times based on current project.
- Safety glasses & steel/composite toe shoes are required for time on the production floor.
- Must successfully pass initial and random drug screenings.
- May require step stools or ladders.
