Job Description
* This position is contingent upon award of contract.
The Physician will utilize expertise to mitigate and treat injuries and illnesses to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment and recovery, request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary. Will coordinate medical referrals, coordinate admission, monitor and arrange final disposition. In addition, will require stabilization of patient and coordination of evacuation of patient to local medical center. We are looking for candidates with a commitment to a proactive approach to workplace safety while taking a diplomatic and professional approach to patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree in Medicine with a minimum of 3 year post qualification experience and licenced to practice in any US State or territory
- MD/DO Board certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
- American Heart Association BCLS and ACLS Certificate
- Advanced Trauma Life Support preferred
- Common Access Card (CAC) or ability to obtain one.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US DOS clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
- Must be able to relocate to Iraq.
- A valid US passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience on a military site, working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and adult patients in an emergency or urgent care environment.
- The ability to make quick medical treatment care plans.
- Ability to provide follow-up care for patients as needed.
- Laceration repairs, wound care, venipuncture, abscess I &D, cast and splint application, etc
- Ability to assess and accurately diagnose obstetrics and gynaecological patients.
- Empathetic and personable medical care
- Accurate, detailed patient charting.
- Maintain a calm, confident demeanour when in stressful situations.
- Results oriented and able to meet project deliverables.
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness with the willingness to work with a foreign national patient population.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out immediate evaluation and management of emergency patients that are brought in for treatment as needed.
- Establish a Primary Care Clinic per CMO guidance and provide routine care for chronic health conditions.
- Provide medical coverage for patients admitted to the facility for advanced care or stabilization.
- Prescribe and administer medication, treatment, therapy.
- Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
