Regular, full-time position at McAlester Clinic | Schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm

Pay will start between $29-$32 per hour, depending on experience
Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position 
 

This position will see anywhere from 8-12 patients each day 
 

Job Summary: As the Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide care and treatment to patients under the direction of a physical therapist. You will also carry out patient care programs to progress the patients through the program until re-evaluation by the physical therapist, reporting progress to the patient’s physician and physical therapist. You will report to the Manager or Director. 

 

Primary Tasks:

 

  1. Interview patients, perform data collection, and assess patient tolerance to therapeutic intervention. 

  2. Provide physical therapy, under the direction of a physical therapist, to all ages, newborn to geriatric.

  3. Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises, instructing, and assisting patients in performing functional activities, and activities of daily living.

  4. Instruct patients on the use of supportive and assistive devices. 

  5. Provide wound care including wound vac applications under the direction of the physical therapist.

  6. Instruct and counsel patients by instructing in home therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance. 

  7. Identify patient care issues and provide information and recommendations on course of action; implement physical therapy directives with ability to provide clinical problem solving.

  8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies and procedures, federal and state regulations; and adhere to infection control policies and protocols.

  9. Document patient care services by charting patient and department records.

  10. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant education program
  • Licensed in the State of Oklahoma 
  • CPR certification within 90 days of employment
  • Basic Understanding of wound care
  • Basic Understanding of Pediatrics

Provides physical therapy along the entire patient age spectrum from the newborn to the geriatric population. 2. Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises, instructing and assisting patients in performing functional activities, and activities of daily-living; instructs patients in the use of supportive and assistive devices. Provides wound care including wound vac applications under the direction of the physical therapist. 3. Instructs and counsels patients by instructing in home therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance. 4. Contributes to the physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and course of action; implementing physical therapy directives with ability to provide clinical problem solving. 5. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies and procedures, federal and state rules and regulations; adhering to infection control policies and protocols. 6. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Assists in process improvement projects and equipment upkeep concerning the physical therapy department. 7.
