First (Days) (United States of America)Prepares medications under the direction/supervision of a pharmacist. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy. Displays the ability to perform and maintain a higher level of competency in all technician tasks and functions. Serves as trainer and mentor for the Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance with Sentara Commitments and provide quality service. In addition to Tech II responsibilities, specializes in gaining full proficiency in at least one specific area of discipline.
VA OR NC (depending upon state location) Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and PTCB or NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
1-year of pharmacy technician experience required.
HS Diploma required.
