This is an exciting new position focused on supporting the growth and development of OR nurses, offering the opportunity to shape practice, strengthen competencies, and enhance onboarding and ongoing education across the department.

Join a collaborative perioperative team dedicated to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous learning. Our department features 10 operating rooms supporting a wide range of surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, Urology, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Plastics, ENT, Neuro, and Podiatry, creating a dynamic and diverse practice environment.

 

 How you’ll contribute 

Periop Educator who excels in this role:

  • Develops, plans, implements and organizes a variety of education activities for the Perioperative department. 

  • Serves as consultant, facilitator, change agent and leader. 

  • Develops/coordinates orientation of new employee and transferred employee with active on-going involvement in the orientation process and continuing education materials.

  • Assists in implementation of department quality initiatives and analysis of outcome data. Analysis shares and assists the interpretation of outcome data with appropriate staff, medical staff, and customers. Facilitates any action as indicated for noted undesirable data and/or negative trends.

What we’re looking for 

Applicants should have a current Arizona or Compact State RN license and possess an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred 

  • Previous operating room nursing (OR) experience at tertiary teaching hospital required

  • Certified Perioperative
