In this role you will

  • Serve as the first point of contact for our Canadian Sentaurs regarding benefits, policies, programs, and any other general inquiries with a service-minded approach
  • Collaborate closely with our global People Operations team including people operations, talent acquisition, and workplace experience
  • Responsible for local immigration cases with support from our people operations team and local council. Assist our immigration partners with ongoing cases
  • Manage and resolve basic employee relations issues, and escalate when needed
  • Provide support to local employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation, and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Provide backup support for day-to-day onboarding, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle events
  • Partner with HRBP on initiatives, programs, or employee concerns that require local support and engagement
  • Coach managers in appropriate people management best practices, i.e., performance management, discipline, reward and recognition, and retention strategies
  • Assist with processing and maintaining accurate employee records and data changes utilizing our various HR systems
  • Conduct research and implement directives to maintain legislative compliance in Canada
  • Partner with other members of the People team, and wider G&A organization on various projects as needed

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business, Human Resource Management, or related field with minimum of 4 years experience with a Canadian based company
  • Human Resources knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Local laws and regulations
  • You possess excellent communication, organization, and data management skills
  • You have the discipline to organize and prioritize projects as well as be flexible in a fast-paced environment with changing demands
  • You can apply critical thinking skills and exercise sound judgment in a solution-focused approach to problem-solving
  • You act ethically and maintain highly confidential and proprietary information that impacts employees and the business
  • You are a proactive and self-directed learner
  • You have consistent attention to detail and understand the importance of getting the small stuff right
  • Benefits administration and experience working with software such as MS Office, G Suite, Jira, Lattice, and HRIS platforms a plus

The base salary range (or hourly wage range, if applicable) that Sentry reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80,000 to $220,000. A successful candidate’s actual base salary (or hourly wage) amount will be determined by a variety of relevant factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s work location, education, work and other relevant experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
