POSITION SUMMARY: 
Under the direction of the Director, Payroll, our Payroll Specialist will coordinate and participate in technical payroll accounting activities; participate in the preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis and auditing of manual and automated payroll data, information, records, and reports; and ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions. This is a Full-Time role onsite within our NY (New York) corporate office with the possibility for a Hybrid schedule. 
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll for all exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations; Calculate and audit wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits. 

  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in salaries, tax withholdings, garnishments, and deductions. 

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements. 

  • Audit payroll records to source data, ensuring all employee changes are correctly reflected in the payroll software. 

  • Manage Payroll distribution inbox and receive phone calls, field messages, respond to frequently asked questions, provide general HR and payroll information, and follow up on all phone calls and emails accordingly. Refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level staff or management 

  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource and payroll files and records. 

  • Assist with recording discrepancies and filing discrepancy form accordingly along with other payroll related forms and documents 

  • Assist with any payroll-related matters including biweekly check distribution, pay discrepancies, garnishments, benefits, and onboarding issues with the payroll department
