GENERAL PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this position is to give associate support and assist with multiple functions of the Payroll department. This person will be responsible for managing several Payroll and Benefits tasks, including but not limited to Employment Verifications, Garnishments, Child Support Withholding Orders, Insurance Billing and Terminations, 401(k), Disability Claims, and various other functions at the Support Office. They will assist with processing Payroll and subpoenas, as well as assisting with projects and promotions for the Harmons People Department as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
• Gathers information and prepares reports via Microsoft Office Suite
• Provides support to associates on payroll and benefit information
• Provides background communication and follow-up for newly promoted managers
• Assists in managing Insurance Billing and Terminations, and Disability Claims
• Enters and maintains information in HRIS system
• Assists the Payroll and Benefits Manager in payroll processing
• Responsible for completing employment verifications, wage statements, and responding to subpoenas
• Responsible for processing Garnishments, Wage Attachments, and Child Support Withholding Orders as required by law
• Answers associate questions regarding Insurance, Payroll and tax information, TAFW requests and balances etc.
• Efficiently completes various projects and promotions as assigned
• Works closely with the People Department team
• Communicates openly, effectively and frequently with People Support Directors and the Payroll and Benefits Manager
• Keeps all associate pay and personal data confidential
• Assists as needed to ensure the success of the company as a whole
MARGINIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

• Consistent and daily interaction with customers and vendors
TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or GED is required; some college education is preferred; FPC or CPP Certification preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, email and the Internet
• Ability to utilize computer systems and standard office equipment
• Basic working knowledge of an HRIS System
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, balance friendliness with efficiency, and maintain focus
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures
• Excellent organization and planning skills
• Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with and manage diverse groups of people
• Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
• Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
• Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized analytical skills and techniques
