Position Summary
The Patient Services Liaison is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Care teams and Call Center that includes but is not limited to faxing, scanning, answering phones and communicating with patients. The Liaison will also make confirmation calls, check eligibility, provide good faith estimates, financial prep and prior authorization for medication.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- 1 year in a medical setting or customer service (Medical Assistant preferred)
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Essential Responsibilities
- Problem solving skills and ability to explore all options and use available resources to find new and effective solutions.
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with providers and co-workers; including sensitive and confidential information.
- Handle conflict and confront challenging issues in a fast-paced work environment.
- Work independently and as a team member.
- Use standard office equipment including phone, fax, copier;
- Provide general administrative support (i.e. typing, filing, etc.) to supervisor and department.
- Computer (PC) literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook email and database software.
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of services for the underserved and sensitivity working with a variety of people from low-income populations, with diverse educational, lifestyle, ethnic, and cultural origins; disabled, homeless, substance users, HIV (AIDS) infected, and/or physiologically impaired.
- Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.
- The Liaison will also make confirmation calls, check eligibility, provide patient with good faith estimates, financial prep and prior authorization for medication.
- Work as back up Call Center Representative.
- Other duties as assigned.
