Patient Coordinator

Description

  Duties/Responsibilities

. Deliver a distinctive patient experience with every patient both in person and over the phone

· Answer calls, and schedule new and existing patients for dental treatment

· Welcome patients into the office upon arrival, gathering necessary information such as patient 

  demographics, insurance 

  information, and updated health history

· Maintain a clean and welcoming patient waiting area

· Collect patient payments and post them to their patient ledger

· Update necessary documents into patient chart 

· Outbound calls to patients for confirming upcoming appointments

· Additional duties as needed such as assisting taking out the trash, refilling supplies in restrooms, and any other 

  necessary tasks in our office

· Assist with Medical records & patient correspondence through email/fax

· Print Router Slip slips

· Call Insurance to check Eligibility, Frequency Limitations, Treatment History

· Keep Insurance’s Information Updated in Dentrix

· Update and Attach Insurance Plans to Family Files as Needed

· Update Coverage Table Information and Change Date Line

· Call and move ineligible patients off schedule 

· Build New Insurance Plans

Requirements

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

At least 1 year of dental admin experience is required

be self-motivated, organized, and have a positive attitude

possess great understanding of dental terminology

have excellent communication and written skills

have excellent public relations skills

work well with patients and team

be experienced in delivering high-level customer service

Committed to the position arriving on time daily and staying late as needed.

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
