The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating appointment times for patients and physician templates. This position requires you to obtain all required information from the patient, efficiently run a physician clinic, and learn how to schedule and coordinate surgical dates. This position requires an excellent communicator who is able to act in a courteous manner while communicating with individuals representing all professional levels. This position will also generate and manage correspondences as directed. This is an amazing opportunity for an Athletic Trainer, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Assistant who wants to stretch their skills in a wider scope, including robust administrative duties.
This is a part-time role, approximately 20 hours per week, with 80% "work from home" and 20% "in office".

- Compensation: Starts at $24/hour - compensation offers will increase from this base rate based on health care or other applicable experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- FMLA paperwork, letters of medical necessity for patient insurance, work notes, patient letter requests, ski pass refunds.
- Assist with scheduling clinic appointments (new patients, rechecks, injections), and patient referrals
- Generate patient and staff correspondences as directed (creating/replying to ModMed tasks, etc)
- Chart note prep for Physician and PA clinics (pending level of EMR experience/medical knowledge)
- Assist with new patient image reviews (sending patient emails to obtain patient records/images)
- Assist patients with logistical scheduling questions, concerns, and other inquiries related to practice.
- Maintain knowledge of physician preferences and availability.
- Works closely with clinical team on a daily basis to provide top patient care.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.
- Cross-train with other positions within team to assist as needed, specifically surgery scheduling in order to effectively provide coverage for the Practice Coordinator when they are out of office.
- Maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form which may jeopardize the privacy of patients.
- Follow policies as established in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- 1 - 2 years medical office experience required; experience working remotely would be highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of 10 key-Microsoft Office products required.
- Knowledge of medical insurance coding/billing preferred.
- Ability to fluently speak and understand English.
- Pleasant, courteous telephone manner required and ability to handle irritated patients, in person or on the
- phone.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously; ability to work with
- frequent interruptions.
- Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and represent The Steadman Clinic in a professional manner at all times.
- Must maintain a professional attitude towards patients and an excellent and collegial working relationship with other Steadman Clinic personnel
