Job Overview
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a full-time Patient Care Assistant on our Inpatient Unit. This is a day shift position that will be expected to work 7:00am to 7:00pm.
Responsibilities
The Patient Care Assistant assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Patient Care Assistant provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned. Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families. Monitors the activities of patients and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma /GED
Certification/Licensure
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in state of SC required
Basic Life Support (BLS) - or obtained within 3 months
Experience
Some nursing assistant experience
One year of pediatric nursing assistant experience preferred
Other
Current full vaccination status required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
