The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Part Time Student for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will….

 

  • Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements across the order fulfillment process to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure quality standards are met consistently.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain quality control systems and procedures to ensure that products meet established quality standards and customer requirements throughout the production and delivery processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, operations, and supplier quality, to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

What Skills You Need

 

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
  • Graduation date of May 2026 later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work during 16-20 hours/weekly during the academic year
  • Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hour/ weekly
  • Must be able to commute to the work location as needed.

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software including Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work in cross-function groups and a team environment.

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Manufacturing Tech, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering; others may apply
