JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Brandywine has an immediate opening for a part-time Assistant Softball Coach. Penn State Brandywine is a provisional member of the NCAA, competing in the United East Conference starting September 2024. This is a part-time opening that reports to the Director of Athletics.

 

Job Duties

  • Assist the Head Coach with organizing all aspects of the softball program, including practice and game preparation, recruitment of qualified student-athletes. 
  • Motivate student-athletes as well as encourage high academic standards, leadership skills and manage the team’s commitment to NCAA and United East Conference regulations.  
  • Complete game day duties as assigned.
  • Complete administrative duties as assigned.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Applicants should have a minimum of 1-2 years coaching experience at the collegiate or High School level and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
