JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the study PIs, the research assistant will coordinate the planning and execution of tasks to support the conduct of “APOL 1 Genetic Testing: Exploring Knowledge and Attitudes to Improve Comprehensive Kidney Risk Assessment for Patients and Families.” This study is a complex, high-impact project which has been funded by three awards from Mid-America Transplant Foundation. The project includes multiple staff members including a primary research nurse, Clinical Trials Office (CTO) coordinators, biostatisticians, the genotyping lab at Mid-America transplant, and student assistants, who work together to engage the patient population including baseline enrollment, collect biospecimens, distribute genetic results, conduct follow up surveys, data collection and analysis. A newly funding phase will include geocoding to explore contributions of social determinants of health. The research assistant will coordinate task assignments and completion across the study team, run weekly meetings, and oversee reports including data completion to support project efficiency and quality.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact with PIs and study team to define, develop, and document project goals, objectives, requirements, and deliverable outcomes that support all tasks of the study including baseline enrollment, collect biospecimens, distribute genetic results, conduct follow up surveys, data collection and analysis, and collaboration with geospatial team in the school of public health.

  • Coordinate task assignments and completion across the study team.

  • Run weekly team meetings.

  • Oversee reports including data completion to support project efficiency and quality.

  • Oversee completion of sponsor project reports, IRB continuing reviews.

  • Assist with assembly of academic deliverables including conference abstracts and manuscripts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree

This position is being funded by Mid-America Transplant grant, therefore continuation in this position is contingent upon funding availability.
