Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Yoga Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in yoga practices and principles, along with a commitment to promoting health and wellness. You will be responsible for leading engaging yoga classes, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for participants of all skill levels.
Conduct yoga classes for Campus Recreation members, faculty, staff and students, adapting sessions to meet the needs of participants.
Demonstrate proper techniques and postures while providing modifications as necessary.
Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages participants to explore their practice.
Develop class plans that incorporate various styles of yoga and align with the overall mission of the studio.
Maintain knowledge of anatomy and physiology to ensure safe practices during classes.
Stay updated on industry trends, continuing education opportunities, and new teaching methodologies.
May be required to teach on other campuses.
Requirements
200 or 500 hour level teacher training certification as a Yoga Instructor from a recognized program is required. First Aid & CPR certification.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to yoga practices.
Experience in health clubs or gyms is preferred; familiarity with fitness sales and marketing.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate participants.
A passion for fitness and wellness with an understanding of program design principles.
