Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Data Center Design Consultant to support the development of a scalable “One-Design” template for hyperscale data center facilities exceeding 500MW capacity.This role will focus on expanding an existing standardized design currently used for facilities of 200MW or less, helping establish a repeatable, modular framework for larger-scale deployments.The consultant will collaborate closely with internal teams, architects, engineers, and General Contractors to optimize design efficiency, constructability, and delivery sequencing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development of a standardized One-Design template for large-scale data center facilities (+500MW) as well as smaller facilities (200MW & under). 
  • Provide technical expertise across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. 
  • Support design modularization strategies to improve scalability and construction efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with General Contractors to review field conditions, provide constructability feedback, and support issue resolution. 
  • Review and manage field documentation and design coordination workflows. 
  • Contribute to turnover planning, commissioning sequencing, and project delivery optimization. 
  • Apply best practices for MEP value clearing and design optimization. 
  • Work within digital construction environments utilizing industry platforms.  

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in data center design and delivery. 
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems within hyperscale or large mission-critical facilities. 
  • Experience with: 
  • Procore 
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) 
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) 
  • Background in Core & Shell development. 
  • Proven experience implementing modular construction strategies. 
  • Strong field experience with the ability to collaborate effectively with General Contractors. 
  • Ability to review, interpret, and coordinate field documentation remotely.

Communication Skills:Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.
Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in an active data center construction environment, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work settings. The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a dynamic environment that includes ongoing construction activity and evolving site conditions.
The work environment includes areas and temporary structures owned, leased, or controlled by third parties over which Overwatch may have limited or no control. Because the project remains under construction, certain areas of the site — including access routes, staging zones, and temporary structures — may not yet be fully ADA-compliant until construction is complete or those third-party areas are finali
