We are a Christ centered Children’s Home looking for a Part Time Accountant in Black Mountain, NC. This position assists the VP of Finance with all things related to accounting for our Residential Care, Independent Living, and Foster Care Programs as well as Thrift Store, Café and West Campus Facility use. Requirements
-The applicant must be a Christian with the ability and desire to interact with kids and young adults positively. Interacting with kids is not a large part of the job, but if everything else is done right, but we fail to represent Christ well when we interact with our kids or other staff, then we have failed at the most important part.
-Familiarity with Excel and efficient and effective email communication.
-Good planning, organizational and follow up skills
-An ability to enter information accurately at an average to above average speed.
-The applicant should be very ethical, honest, trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
-A desire to learn, help others and work steadily.
-Work Location: 80 Lake Eden Rd. Black Mountain, NC
-Hours: 20 – 29 hours per week
PREFERRED:
-Ability to use more advanced functions in Excel, like VLOOKUPS, IF Statements, PIVOT Tables etc.
-Experience in an accounting role and / or an accounting education.
-Knowledge of the debits and credits associated with a chart of accounts and how to prepare journal entries for various types of activity.
-Experience or education related to accounts receivable
-Experience or education related to reconciling various general ledger and bank accounts
-A reasonably steady work history. If the applicant changes jobs every 9 months, the applicant will probably not be considered.
