General Description / Primary Purpose:

This is work performing parking services for the campus.



Job Function:

* Employee has a proficient understanding of all virtual parking solutions offered by the University and can effectively articulate the uses and navigation of products and services. Virtual parking solutions are as follows: License Plate Recognition (LPR), vehicles and associated hardware/software, mobile handheld enforcement machine, handheld radio, and immobilization devices.
*Responsible for enforcing proper parking regulations by driving a state vehicle armed with LPR cameras and/or golf cart.
* Efficiently enforces all designated parking areas on campus using LPR software to ensure compliance with parking regulations.
*Effectively identifies vehicles in violation of parking regulations and utilizes handheld enforcement devices and LPR software to issue parking citations.
*Communicates to other team members via two-way radio device
* Applies vehicle immobilization devices to automobiles with outstanding citations
*Inspects parking garages for proper signage, lighting and maintenance and reports deficiencies to enforcement supervisors.
* Responsible for completing enforcement cage duties such as offloading handheld units, sanitizing commonly touched areas in enforcement vehicles and /or golf carts, stocking all enforcement vehicles and/or golf carts with necessary materials for parking enforcement and immobilization violations.
* Assists parking service supervisors with training parking patrollers in enforcing parking regulations
* During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.



Marginal Functions:

* Cleaning signs, installing and removing signs, replacing hardware* Assists with set up and take down of barricades for special events* Completing accident reports in the event of an incident and immediately them reporting to supervisors* Reporting all hazards and spills such as broken wheel stops, potholes, worn signs or chemical spills to supervisors* Transporting golf carts and enforcement vehicles for maintenance* Other duties as assigned that may require to adjust normal schedule such as filling in during other employees' absences either requiring opening at 7am or closing at 6pm



Supervision Received:

The incumbent’s work is reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and to ensure instructions are being followed.

 

Required Qualifications: High school diploma and two years of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
