Paramedic - Ambulance Operations

The Paramedic is responsible for delivering and administering high quality care and transportation to ill and injured persons. The Paramedic must demonstrate clinical competency and compassion in providing for the physical and emotional needs of patients. The Paramedic must have excellent judgment and be able to prioritize decisions and act quickly in the best interest of the patient, must be self-disciplined, able to develop patient rapport, interview patients, maintain safe distance, and recognize and utilize communication unique to diverse multicultural groups and ages within those groups. Must be able to function independently at optimum level in a non-structured environment that is constantly changing.

Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (GED).Additional Qualifications:Experience as an Paramedic as well as an associate or baccalaureate degree in Paramedicine are preferred. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write and speak English.License or Certification:Florida Paramedic licensure/certification. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification and ACLS. Current ITLS or PHTLS and PALS certifications or must be obtained with 6 months of hire. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy.
