About the role

The Division of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care is looking for a Palliative physician to provide adult inpatient Palliative Care consult services at our Inova Fairfax location and our Inova Loudoun location. Sign on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Program Features:

The adult Palliative Medicine & Comprehensive Care Team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus consists of an interdisciplinary team of 5 physicians, 3 advanced practice providers, 2 clinical therapists, a palliative RN, a hospice coordinator, and a chaplain. Inove Fairfax is a 923-bed hospital campus and a Level 1 Trauma Center. At Loudoun Hospital, our team features a physician medical director, an advanced practice provider, and a clinical therapist for the 323-bed campus. Our expert teams provide specialty consultation with a strong focus on both advanced symptom management and serious illness communication. The Palliative Medicine & Comprehensive Care Team is part of Inova’s Medicine Service Line; current initiatives include creation of a Serious Illness Care Model and a Palliative Nurse Champion program. 

Additional Requirements:

  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday – Consult based only – and participation in weekend coverage at Fairfax
  • Education: An MD or DO from an accredited university medical school, Completed ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship, board eligible or certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine 
  • Licensure: Current or eligibility for an unrestricted Virginia state medical license and DEA
