Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public safety by providing effective interventions that improve the lives of youth, strengthening both families and communities within the Commonwealth.

DJJ is currently hiring a Paint Lead Worker. This position will maintain interior and exterior surfaces, windows, and trim on buildings and other equipment by sanding, preparing and painting both inside and outside of a secure perimeter juvenile correctional complex.

Valid driver's license required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of various compounds, chemicals, materials, and paint types for all surfaces;
• General knowledge of maintenance procedures and related safety procedures;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work activities and follow verbal and written instructions;
• Demonstrated ability to prepare written estimates for project cost and time completion.

Additional Considerations

• Performs additional special buildings and grounds duties and/or assist in special projects directed by the Buildings and Grounds Superintendent.
