Job Description

This individual will be responsible for the design of transport and outer packaging for warehouses in the NA region.   Responsibilities will include design, development, validation, and implementation of packaging solutions for finished goods to meet material flow requirements in a lean environment. 

Detailed Responsibilities: 

► Packaging Design:

Requirement verification

Definition of packaging concept

Design of packaging in CAD system (incl. 2D drawing and 3D model)

► Packaging Tests:

Definition and execution of required packaging tests

► Initial Loop-Calculations:

Calculation empties demand

► Packaging supplier contact:

Supplier suggestion

Sample coordination

► Master data management

Create, change and verify packaging p/n

Update packaging master data

► Initial order processing

Request quotes from packaging supplier

Create price overview

Order processing

Travel Expectation: Once per month to a Bosch plant or packaging supplier.  Mainly domestic, but some international travel may be possible. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

► Bachelor’s degree in packaging logistics, packaging engineering or mechanical engineering

► 3+ years of experience in logistics with a focus on packaging design

► 3+ years of experience in design of packaging / design of plastic parts / packaging concepts / packaging optimization

Preferred Qualifications: 

► Proactive, analytic, team worker, organized and good communication skills in English, German and Spanish are a plus

► Self-motivated and ability to solve problem independently

► Knowledge in 3D CAD Software, MS Office & SAP

► Experienced in Project management

► Focus on sustainable Packaging
