Position: Overnight Maintenance Technician

Department: Maintenance 

Shift: Monday- Friday, Overnight (8 Hours)

· Greiner Packaging is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in Pittston TWP, Pennsylvania. 

· As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. This is a hands-on position. 

· This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and preventative maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. 

· You will have the opportunity to become an expert in operating and maintaining a 

variety of plastic processing machinery. 

Core duties 

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing 

preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on a variety of production machines 

• Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and 

engineering specifications for troubleshooting equipment issues. 

• Locate sources of problems by observing machinery in operation and speaking to operators. 

• Maintains stocked parts by scanning parts out. Making sure received parts are correct and match what is ordered. Able to use email to convey information about parts. 

• Identify parts so they can be ordered. 

•  Prepares “end of shift” maintenance reports which summarize the work you performed during the shift 

• Complete workorders throughout shift 

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, 

rules, and regulations 

• Contributes to the Maintenance team effort by accomplishing all goals to support of production  

Technical Expertise 

· In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance. 

· Understanding of Electrical control systems and ability to fault find electrical 

issues 

· Be able to learn and understand the operation of all Production equipment and apply that knowledge to troubleshooting maintenance issues

· Excellent troubleshooting skills 

· Basic computer and report writing skills 

· Good verbal and written communication skills 

· Must be able to stay self-motivated and be able to work alone

· Must be able to work with others on the Maintenance and/or Production team

· Good time-management skills 

· Responsible for Food Safety within scope of work, including adherence to site 

Hygiene Code of Practice and SQF / FDA regulatory requirements, and reporting 

of food safety concerns / improvement suggestions 

· All other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Experience 

· 3-5 years’ experience in a plant Maintenance role within a 

manufacturing setting is required 

· Experience with thermoforming, plastic injection molding, high speed plastic cup printing, cardboard segment/label machines. 

Other 

· 8 hour (6pm-2am) shift M-F (Flexible) unless covering for a scheduled unmanned evening shift.  

· Work in/around automated equipment daily 

· Standing, lifting, bending, reaching on a consistent basis 

· Requires hand washing multiple times throughout a shift, including exposure to cleaning agents that may be harsh to the skin. (PPE Provided)
