Description
The Optical Lead is responsible for assisting with all facets of operations at a single optical location. Maintains highest level of customer service. Ensures efficient and effective daily operation of an optical location, including budgetary controls, inventory controls, driving profitable sales growth, increasing customer count, personnel management, and managing centralized processes. Monitors trends in the eyewear industry and keeps inventory up to date. Trains Optical Consultants on products and sales.

- Achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
- Collaborate between Doctors and Opticians to maximize business performance and patient satisfaction.
- Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
- Monitor sales results and key performance indicators.
- Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all employees and doctors are aware of current promotions.
- Interface and maintain professional relations with the doctor, employees, and customers.
- Investigate and compile competitive information.
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly statistics to the corporate office.
- Perform new and continuing training for Optical Consultants.
- Verify that optical lab products meet quality specifications and timeliness SLAs.
- Ensure effective merchandising and presentation according to Brand and Company standards.
- Audit monthly inventory.
- Analyze data to make recommendations on ways to improve profitability.
- Develop marketing plan for monthly promotions, collateral, etc.
- Motivate team to exceed performance standards and goals.
- Assist with hiring; supervise and cross train all store associates.
- Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policies.
- Keep commitments and keep direct supervisor informed of work progress, timetables, and issues.
- Obtain and review medical history and/or records from patient.
- Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices).
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:
REQUIRED: At least 3 or more years of related work experience as an Optician, dispensing contact lenses and glasses. Computer knowledge and user.
DESIRABLE: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:
- Certified Dispensing Optician (preferred)

- Ability to use a lensometer.
