We're seeking an Optical Engineering Intern to join our Orlando, FL Manufacturing Operations and Engineering team during the summer of 2025! You will gain experience on highly technical revolutionary optical products that utilize photonic principals to serve the national interests of the United States. This position requires you to work 100% on-site.


Responsibilities:

• This role will be responsible for utilization of optical equipment, optical test and execution, GUI software, and product verification testing
• Including projects related to optical process and performance, verification test software, and final system environmental and acceptance testing in an SDA regulated environment
• You will receive technical guidance and mentorship from the different engineering groups that support the operational progression of the product lines focusing on software and optics
• The internship will help establish foundations for the selected applicant in space-flight production learning about ISO 9000 compliancy and other industry best practice standards

Qualifications:

Required: 

• Must currently be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate student
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance
• Experience working in a fast paced exciting team environment
• Curiosity for how things work, and drive to learn more
• Hands-on or theoretical experience with optics and lasers
• Understanding of computers and software capabilities

Desired:

• Pursuing a degree in Photonics, Software/Computer Science, Electromechanics or related field is preferred, not required
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required
• Previous experience working with optical systems and testing output
• Experience with software systems (Python, C #, SQL)
• Experience working in aerospace manufacturing
