This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing.  Please read the job description in its entirety for additional information on accessing the assessment. The assessment should be completed by Sunday, March 10th 2024.

About Baton Rouge

 

Located on the banks of the Mississippi river in southeastern Louisiana, Baton Rouge is the state capital with more than 800,000 residents (the second largest city in the state). Famous for its fusion of cultures, Southern hospitality, diverse cuisine and college football, it is also a significant port and a major industrial and petrochemical center.

 

Our Baton Rouge operations began in 1909 and have grown into an integrated complex that includes the Port Allen Lubricant Plant which opened in 1991 and is now the third largest blend plant in the world.  Here we blend, package and shipt our In 2016, Port Allen expanding its operations to include the Port Allen Aviation Plant, which is the sole manufacturing site for Mobil Jet II.

 

As the second largest employer in the state, our daily challenges include safely operating eight interconnected sites on a round-the-clock basis. We’re required to constantly adjust and respond to fluctuating markets and resource availability. We oversee the production of more than 2.9 billion pounds of products annually, while constantly searching for ways to improve and optimize our operations.

 

Our Baton Rouge complex is known for more than its size. In 2016, three of the six manufacturing plants that received Distinguished Safety Awards by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers association were located at the Baton Rouge complex.

What role you will play in our team

 

  • Ensure safe operations for oneself and the crew.
  • Job scope includes bulk offloading, storage, blending, packaging, warehousing, and minor maintenance.
  • Physical requirements involve climbing, standing, walking, lifting, and various activities.
  • Work outdoors and independently during certain activities
  • Receive guidance from Aviation Operations Supervisor, Manager, and Control Room Supervisor
  • Position is located at the Port Allen Aviation Plant in Port Allen, Louisiana

What you will do

 

  • Follow safety procedures and plant instructions.
  • Participate in safety programs and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Conduct daily operations including equipment inspections, bulk offloading, blending, packaging, and warehousing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate blends, monthly inventory and proper sampling.
  • Perform hose inspections, connection of hoses, and verify proper valve alignments.
  • Coordinate and execute bulk unloading activities accurately.
  • Respond to emergency alarms and operate the Fire Water system.
  • Manage utilities supporting the Aviation plant.
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Job requires working outside in all weather conditions, and working alone during certain shifts
  • Ownership of personal safety and safety of co-workers

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Adherence to all policies and processes
  • Able and willing to work in inclement weather and work alone during certain shifts
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Able to take direction well
  • Able to understand alarms and how to react
  • Relevant industrial experie
