MISSION / SUMMARY:
Finishing department is an integral part of the production process. Individual must understand and align business operations as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
- Responsible for producing, inspecting, and shipping products
- Working as part of a team to maximize productivity and efficiency in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to learn new tasks
- Repetitive work
- Standing – 8 – 12 hours/shift
- Follow all safety and company rules and requirements
- Other duties as assigned
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
- Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to read and interpret information sheets/forms
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- Successful candidates must be willing and able to work all shifts, including but not limited to, days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, 12 hour rotating shifts, and statutory holidays as per the Collective Agreement, without exception, in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Candidates unable to work any of these shifts will not be considered for the job.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing for extended periods (8-12 hours)
- Awkward and/or repetitive movements, including push/pull, bending, twisting, above should lifting.
- Lifting 10-50lbs
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices
- Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
- Noisy environment with fluctuating temperatures
