Job Overview

As a Janitorial Supervisor in the Seattle area, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of multiple facilities. In this leadership role, you will manage and support a team of janitorial staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are consistently met. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. While this role primarily supports the night shift, some scheduling flexibility will be required to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities 

• Supervise and lead a team of janitorial staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Oversee and ensure the proper execution of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure that cleaning protocols are being followed and the facility is maintained to the highest standards.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their specific cleaning needs and address any concerns or requests.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage.
• Train new staff members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
• Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent cleaning situations as they arise.
• Provide clear communication to both staff and management regarding updates, issues, and performance feedback.
• Monitor and enforce safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Other tasks and projects requested by the customer and/or Advanced Building Maintenance, Inc team. 

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within the janitorial or commercial cleaning industry is strongly preferred.

• Solid understanding of janitorial best practices, cleaning techniques, and proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.

• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, guide, and support a diverse team.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively manage schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor supply levels.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with team members, clients, and management.

• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment in fast-paced or changing environments.

• Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards and regulations relevant to janitorial operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, custodial training) are a plus.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

• This position primarily operates during the night shift and requires scheduling flexibility to meet business demands, including occasional weekend or daytime coverage as needed.
