Responsibilities
The Operations & Solutions Analyst will play a pivotal role in the design and execution of business-critical initiatives that improve operational performance across the organization. This position emphasizes practical problem-solving, solution development, and continuous improvement through fast, iterative execution.
Reporting to the AVP of Operations, the Analyst will be responsible for building and testing tools, streamlining workflows, and supporting the implementation of cross-functional improvements. The ideal candidate combines analytical thinking with a strong bias for action, demonstrating the ability to turn concepts into tangible outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This is a delivery-focused role suited for individuals who are energized by solving problems, creating structure, and driving meaningful results through hands-on execution.
- Support the execution of cross-functional operational and process improvement initiatives under the guidance of the AVP of Operations.
- Act as a hands-on executor for assigned workstreams—developing tools, building workflows, and delivering functional solutions aligned to project goals.
- Use Excel (including Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas, and macros) to create models and reports that support staffing plans, performance quartile analyses, and other operational insights.
- Design and track KPIs and control tools to monitor initiative progress and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, and utilize Python where appropriate, to extract, reconcile, and transform data from various systems into actionable insights.
- Apply process improvement methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar) to assess trends, test hypotheses, and support data-informed decision making.
- Create clear, usable process diagrams and documentation to support rollout and training.
- Prepare communication materials and presentations to summarize work, findings, and outcomes for stakeholders.
- Iterate on tools and solutions quickly based on business feedback and evolving needs, ensuring outputs remain relevant and usable.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to validate assumptions, refine solutions, and ensure successful adoption.
Qualifications
Education Requiment
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in an operational, business analysis, or process improvement role.
- Experience in the insurance industry, consulting, or a highly operational environment is a strong plus.
Technical Skills
- Solid experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for reconciliation, extraction, and performance monitoring across systems.
- Comfort working with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, R, VBA, JavaScript) to support automation, data manipulation, or solution development.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and macros/VBA—used for building models, audits, and automation tools.
- Familiarity with reporting or dashboard tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel-based dashboards) to visualize performance metrics and support decision-making.
- Experience with workflow and process documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) to map and formalize operational procedures.
