ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Major Duties/Critical Tasks for all Operations Managers:
- Prepares work schedules
- Schedules inter-district shipments
- Completes monthly inventories
- Enforces compliance with regulations and policies
- Supervises bleach manufacturing and compressed gas operations
- Enforces safe work practices and the use of personal protective equipment
- Orders and/or schedules the delivery of raw materials and products
- Assists with EPA, DOT, FRA, OSHA, Homeland Security, and internal audits.
- Prepares reports
- Maintains repour with local emergency responders.
- Conducts safety meetings
- Ensures all employee training is current and compliant.
- Maintains vehicle files
- Ensures all transportation assets are DOT compliant.
- Ensures all aspects of the PSM program are being followed and are compliant.
- Assist sales on customer calls.
Major Duties/Critical Tasks Dependent on Structure and Size of Facility:
- Supervises bulk shipments
- Assists with hiring
- Supervises laboratory operations
- Performs safety inspections
- Schedules vehicle maintenance
- Assists in the packaging, manufacturing and loading areas
- Dispatches and supervises truck drivers
- Maintains daily inventories
- Maintains personnel files
- Monitors tank farm operations
QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS
Education: High school diploma minimum. Some college preferred
Experience: Three to five years chemical processing and/or chemical packaging, including and supervision.
Certification: None, unless hydrotesting. After hire date this employee will need Forklift Certification, Emergency
Response Training (24 hour Tech Level) Team Leader or Member certification and First Aid and CPR certification.
Knowledge of:
- General processing/operations principles.
- Usage and handling of compressed gases and industrial chemicals.
- Risk Management Program and Process Safety Management
- Computer programs used by the EHSS and Engineering Departments
Skill in:
- Oral and written communication.
- Meeting people.
- Solving interpersonal problems.
- Directing others; providing performance feedback.
- Handling pressure.
- Basic mathematics, such as addition and subtraction of fractions and decimals
Ability to:
