We are seeking an experienced on-set VFX supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be crucial in overseeing and ensuring the seamless integration of visual effects into live-action footage during on-set productions. This role requires a deep understanding of VFX workflows, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with directors, producers, and the post-production team.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with the director, cinematographer, and production team to understand each shot’s creative vision and technical requirements.
- Provide expert advice on set regarding camera placement, lighting, and actor interaction to capture elements necessary for successful VFX integration.
- Ensure the collection of accurate on-set data, including camera and lens information, lighting conditions, and reference photography.
- Supervise the execution of practical effects on set to enhance the visual effects process.
- Communicate effectively with the post-production team, providing detailed information on each shot to ensure a smooth transition from on-set production to post-production.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve on-set challenges related to VFX, collaborating with relevant departments to find efficient solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance on-set VFX processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an On-set VFX Supervisor in film or television productions.
- In-depth knowledge of VFX workflows, camera techniques, and on-set production processes.
- Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and practical effects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools used in VFX production.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Animation, VFX, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant experience in VFX and on-set supervision.
