Position Overview
The Illinois Prisoner Review Board is seeking to hire a motivated, self-starting Office Coordinator for the Operations Unit. The Office Coordinator receives all incoming requests for modifications of orders, hearing requests on youth and adult individual that are incarcerated, sends out hearing notifications letters, attends monthly board sessions, taking minutes, and handling rationales. The ideal candidate will be able to work well with the public, staff and Senior Management. We invite those interested in public safety to apply.
Essential Function
- Receives all incoming requests for modification of orders and reconsideration hearing requests on youth and adults from Senior staff, agency staff, parole agents and aftercare specialists, hearing officers and board members.
- Compiles, prepares, documents, and mails all hearing notification letters.
- Creates and posts the agency for En Banc sessions on a monthly basis.
- Keyboards minutes on all decisions and final decisions made by the hearing officer and/or board members.
- Travels, when necessary, to Illinois Department of Corrections and Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years study at a secretarial/business college or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience or two (2) years of independent business experience.
2. Requires the ability to keyboard 30 wpm accurately.
