About the role

Job Summary:

As part of a formal apprenticeship or regional training program, assists Product Design Technicians to learn and develop the skills necessary to obtain a regionally applicable, Certification as an Experienced Technician (e.g. US Department of Labor).  Independently performs work to help support area needs during work rotations in other applicable teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enhancing Model and Drawing Quality: By developing your capability to ensure high-quality models and drawings, you'll contribute to the accuracy and reliability of the products.
  2. Creating and Maintaining Product Specifications: Utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), you'll ensure that product specifications are precise and meet industry standards.
  3. Managing CAD Data: Using CAD data management tools, you'll maintain configuration control and ensure the security of design data, which is crucial for project integrity.
  4. Applying Standards: Acquiring knowledge of company, industry, national, and international standards will help you ensure compliance and improve the overall quality of the engineering processes.
  5. Processing Engineering Work Requests: By efficiently handling internal engineering work requests, you'll streamline operations and support the timely completion of projects.
  6. Collaborating with Functional Areas: Engaging with various functional areas as needed will foster teamwork and ensure that all aspects of the project are aligned and integrated.
  7. Continuous Learning: Attending classes and training programs will enable you to build your skills and knowledge, ensuring you stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices.
  8. Driving Innovation: Your proactive approach to learning and applying new techniques will drive innovation within the team, leading to improved processes and products.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
    High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required. 

    Must meet the minimum educational requirements to be ready to start a formal apprenticeship or training program. 

    Registration in a regionally certified apprenticeship learning or training program required.
