Job Summary:

At the direction of Bechtel’s NS&E Manager of Security, the Nuclear Security Manager is responsible for managing security at all NS&E Commercial Nuclear Projects in support of Bechtel’s scope of work. The Nuclear Security Manager will develop and implement Global Business Unit (GBU) commercial nuclear security policies, procedures, briefings and oversee project security teams at all NS&E Commercial Nuclear Projects.  

Major Responsibilities:

• Plan, initiate, manage, and be accountable for all aspects of the physical, personnel, and information security functions of NS&E Commercial Nuclear Projects in support of both internal and external customers. Ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken to rectify security related deficiencies or findings.
• Direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of security strategies and programs to respond to security conditions and incidents. Minimize risk of personal, physical, or financial harm to customer property and Bechtel assets, employees, and dependents. Supervise investigations of acts against Bechtel personnel, property, or other interests at Commercial Nuclear Projects.
• Develop plans and direct the activities of on-site security staff and ensures their actions comply with legal and regulatory requirements as well as meet corporate and customer needs.
• Develop relationships with customer security personnel, law enforcement, intelligence & security agencies, and private sector counterparts to support the continuous monitoring of threat-related intelligence.  Responsible for the timely development of threat assessments regarding travel safety, project and/or office work-site feasibility, incident management, and evacuation activities for Bechtel employees.
• Implement appropriate security awareness and training programs to enable NS&E Commercial Nuclear Project employees to keep themselves and their families secure in the workplace, facilities they frequent, residence and other places. 
• Develop budgetary requirements for security activities and manage the implementation of approved budgets.
• Represent NS&E Manager of Security at meetings and consultations with client representatives, government security agencies and industry associates. 
• Conduct regular security assessments, drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for various threat scenarios. In absence of project security manager (or team), act as central POC of all security aspects of project/program.
• Prepare for and coordinate regulatory inspections, audits and investigations.  
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of security professionals, ensuring all personnel are qualified and certified as required.
