North County CYD - Assistant Director Hawes

The YMCA of Orange County is looking to hire an Assistant Child Care Director who has a passion for working with school age children (5-12 years of age) in a classroom setting. This is a full-time position, working roughly 9:45am-6:15pm, Monday through Friday and assisting and planning the education curriculum.

As an Assistant Child Care Director you will be working closely with a Director, together you will be responsible for overall leadership of a child care center for school aged students. Assistant Directors are also responsible for staff supervision, daily schedule, enrollment and building parent and school relations.

What you need to apply:

• Experience working with children ages 5-12 years of age, in an after school program setting.
• 12 college units with 6 units in Child Development, Education or related field & 6 units in Psychology, Sociology, Recreation, Physical Education, Art, Music, or related field. 3 units or 60 training hours in Administration required or must be enrolled in Administration class within 6 months of hire.
• Based on minimum education, experience would range between 1-4 years.

Education & Certification:

• Licensing Option 1: Education & Certifications: EMSA First Aid & EMSA CPR Certification, 15 college units accepted by licensing (3 units in Child Development, and 3 units or 60 training hours in Administration, and 9 units or 180 training hours in Recreation, Elementary Education or related field) required.
• Licensing Option 2: Education & Certifications: 2 year college degree in related field, EMSA First Aid & EMSA CPR Certification, 15 college units accepted by licensing (3 units in Child Development, and 3 units or 60 training hours in Administration, and 9 units or 180 training hours in Recreation, Elementary Education or related field) required.
• Licensing Option 3: Education & Certifications: 4 year college degree in related field, EMSA First Aid & EMSA CPR Certification, 15 college units accepted by licensing (3 units in Child Development, and 3 units or 60 training hours in Administration, and 9 units or 180 training hours in Recreation, Elementary Education or related field) required.
