The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a motivated technical writer intern who is ready to apply knowledge of standards and best practices in a fast-paced, real-world environment.

• The intern will assist in content creation, writing reports, conducti ng research,
• analyzing data, and making recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• We operate in a hybrid (on-site/remote) environment. You will be a member of our CACI Teams group and will have periodic status meetings (via TEAMS) during the week in addition to project team meetings and (approximately) weekly training sessions coordinated by University Programs.
• We do not expect you to know everything on day one or at the end of the internship. We do expect you to learn, contribute and be an everyday participating part of the team we build around you.
• Depending on your long-term plans with CACI and your performance, you may also be submitted for a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
• Participate in the full lifecycle of network projects, from planning and design to implementation and testing.
• Research & Evaluation: Help research and evaluate new networking technologies and potential solutions.
• Using network monitoring tools to track performance.
• Troubleshooting hardware and soft ware issues.
• Assisting with network security and protocols.
• Managing tasks and supporting cloud environments.
• Developing proof-of-concept setups and testing new equipment.
• Collaborating with other IT teams, like systems and security engineers.

Qualifications:

Required: 

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Currently pursuing or recently earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a closely related field.
• Foundational understanding of networking concepts, cloud and sw defined networking principles and protocols, emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Ability to analyze network issues, diagnose problems, and apply logical thinking to find solutions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• A strong desire to learn new technologies and take on unfamiliar tasks.

Desired:

• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to explain technical concepts, document issues, and collaborate with teams.
• Exposure to or desire to obtain entry-level certifications like Comp TIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA is a strong advantage.
