Position Description
The Anoka County Information Technology department is committed to helping the County’s programs and services successfully meet their business objectives while enabling innovation through technology. They accomplish this by gathering information about users' needs, identifying solutions, facilitating the implementation, support, training, and ongoing resources needed to meet those needs.
The IT Network Engineer installs, maintains, and evaluates network systems and unified communications. This position is responsible for new and existing network systems and services, including local and wide area networks, intranets, unified communication systems, and the Internet. This position provides analytical, technical, and administrative support for moderately complex issues and problems associated with network infrastructure and unified telecommunications.
This is a full-time, exempt, on-site/hybrid position. Interviews will take place the week of September 8, 2025, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.
Pay & Benefits
Salary: $74,214.40 to $89,065.60 ($35.68 to $42.82 per hour)
2025 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 34: $74,214.40 to $103,896 ($35.68 to $49.95 per hour)

Work Location
This position will work at Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.
This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work, with some days working remotely and some days working in the office.
General work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and evaluate Anoka County’s network infrastructure.
Troubleshoot network issues involving various factors.
Install, maintain and administer unified communications systems.
Support and maintain analog voice environment.
Support and install video conferencing hardware and software in conference rooms.
Work with vendors to maintain and upgrade county copper and fiber cabling infrastructure.
Maintain network devices including the restoration of hardware and software.
Mitigate potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the security of the system.
Perform configuration changes to the network environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Ensure network integrity as maintenance and modification projects to existing applications are undertaken.
Monitor network performance to ensure optimal utilization and actively resolve issues.
Work with end users to resolve network hardware and software issues.
Administer end user training to achieve efficient utilization of LAN/WAN. Review progress and evaluate results.
Maintain standardized policies, procedures, and training plans for network administration and disaster recovery.
Act as a point of escalation and resolve network problems, create reports, and ensure optimal utilization of the products.
Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group as assigned.
