Overview:
As an Information Security GRC Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) by collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to risk management initiatives. This role provides a foundational understanding of asset risk profiles and risk assessment, findings management, and audit support.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Asset Risk Profile (ARP) process, including asset identification, risk ranking, and impact analysis.
• Collaborate with teams to review security controls, policies, and procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
• Participate in findings management, ensuring security issues are properly documented, tracked, remediated, and reported.
• Assist in audit preparation by gathering evidence, maintaining documentation, and supporting compliance reviews.
• Research emerging cybersecurity risks, regulatory changes, and best practices to enhance security awareness.
• Develop reports and presentations to communicate key security findings and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Must currently be pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Audit, MIS, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a professional setting.
- Passion for cybersecurity risk management, compliance, and governance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in fast paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Interest in learning about findings management, risk assessments, and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job does not have supervisory duties.
Compensation:
As an apprentice, you will work between 20-30 hours per week at a rate between $18-$25/hour.
