Gonzalez Companies is a partner managed firm that provides comprehensive Planning, Design, and Construction Management Services to large and small Water, Sewer and Utility Districts; Departments of Transportation; and municipalities. We are currently seeking a NACE Inspector - Level 1 or 2 to help serve our connection of clients and community. Your Primary Responsibilities will include

• Perform field inspections on coating and painting activities, ensuring compliance with NACE, SSPC, ASTM, and project specifications.
• Conduct surface preparation assessments and verify proper environmental conditions for coating applications.
• Utilize inspection instruments such as DFT gauges, holiday detectors, adhesion testers, and hygrometers.
• Review contractor procedures and ensure work is performed in accordance with approved plans.
• Document all inspection results and prepare daily inspection reports, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and clients regarding quality issues and status updates.
• Participate in pre-job and safety meetings, and contribute to quality and safety improvement initiatives.
  
  

What you'll need

• Valid NACE Coating Inspector Certification (Level 1 or Level 2).
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or engineering education is a plus.
• 1–5+ years of relevant experience in coating inspection or a related field (varies by level).
• Proficiency with industry tools and standards (e.g., SSPC, ASTM).
• Strong understanding of coating systems used in oil & gas, marine, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in various environments (outdoors, confined spaces, elevated areas).
• Willingness to travel or work remotely based on project location.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• NACE Level 1 or 2 Certification
• Knowledge of additional inspection disciplines
• OSHA 10/30 certification or other safety-related training
• Experience working on large-scale or infrastructure
