This job, under general supervision, leads operational functions related to staff development and training. Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures required for success and participates in initiatives to improve processes serving internal and external customers.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education
Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
Required - 6 months of experience as a Monitor Technician.
Preferred - Team lead or supervisory experience.
Certifications
Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association and
EKG/Telemetry National Certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Job Duties
Oversees daily department activities, serves as point person for department in supervisor's absence and trains new employees.
Works closely with department management and team members to allocate resources daily among department.
Monitors and tracks time and attendance in accordance with department policies.
Resolves customer concerns and participates in initiatives to improve customer service.
Assists with inventory management.
Relieves monitor technicians for breaks.
Conducts department rounding to assist with real time escalations.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Performs other related duties as required.
