What You’ll Do

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. in San Jose is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team responsible to commercialize the world-class CP (Communication Processor) Modem solution for next generation mobile platforms. The ideal candidate should have a clear passion for writing quality code and will be working on the CP platform software stack.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

  • Commercialize Samsung CP solution in North American market.
  • Work closely with geographically dispersed hardware and system development teams and contribute to the development/support of CP platform features from pre-silicon to final product commercial release.
  • Analyze field/internal issue test logs of CP platform software issues.
  • Manage onsite customer support and work to resolve possible escalated customer issues.
  • Ability to take ownership and bring innovations in development of novel CP Platform features.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 1+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Design, implement and optimize CP Platform software.
  • BS/MS with industry experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ with good understanding of OS concepts.
  • Strong understanding of ARM architecture, RTOS, multiprocessor communication mechanism.
  • Experience in embedded device driver implementations.
  • Experience with software integration on new platforms, identify performance bottlenecks in the system and take ownership of the related optimizations.
  • Ability to work with cross functional development (HW and SW) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to diagnose/root-cause issues and deliver best in class CP solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • A strong team player, self-motivated and positive attitude.
  • Knowledgeable in Embedded PCIe, DVFS, SIM Driver, UART, SHM (shared memory), SOC Bring-up.
  • Hands-on experience in Trace 32 usage & scripting.

Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. Base Pay Range$68,550—$154,440 USD
