Job Description

The Mobility Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Mobility Tech assists patients with mobility and ambulation when the skilled care of rehabilitation professional is not indicated. Works under the direction and supervision of the charge nurse of the unit and the senior therapist on the rehabilitation team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains patient rooms in a clean and neat manner, keeping the patient's environment up to safety standards upon entering and leaving a room. 
  • Consistently demonstrates hourly rounding key behaviors. 
  • Follows standard precautions and infection control policies and procedures consistently. 
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, cleans equipment according to standards. 
  • Performs patient ambulation responsibilities as appropriate and safe as trained by the rehabilitation staff.
  • Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care under the direction of the RN.
  • Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patients; answers questions within scope of practice.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Physical Demand Requirement:
    • Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 55 pounds
