The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Mine Maintenance General Supervisor at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 7x7 schedule, day shift rotation.

 

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Location

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

Summary

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Mine Maintenance General Supervisor is responsible for the safe execution of all truck shop work, in order to maintain a reliable fleet. Providing support through good communication and feedback to supervisors and crew/team members. Ensuring maintenance activities are conducted safely, ensuring maximum production at minimum cost.

• Stands a courageous safety leader by promoting and supporting the creation of a strong safety culture and safe practices and leading by example,
• Ensures full compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as the Health & Safety, and Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia,
