The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:

 

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Mine Engineer/EIT  at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.

 

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Location

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

Summary

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, Short-Range Planning, the Mine Engineer/EIT supports Mine Operations and the technical services teams through performance analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role is focused on using operational data to identify opportunities, support initiatives, and help the site operate more efficiently and effectively.

 

Responsibilities 

• Use operational data to identify, support, and drive continuous improvement opportunities in mine production and performance,
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support decision-making across Mine Operations and Technical Services,
• Collaborate with operations and technical services teams to ensure real-time data is understood and used effectively in decision-making,
