Job Description

HII is seeking a Project Manager experienced in Navy Maintenance and Repair Programs to oversee the execution of day-to-day tasking along with the workforce to execute the technical requirement. This position is responsible for ensuring the completion of O-level repairs to maintain the quality-of-life standards for the berthing and messing crews on Duty Crew Berthing Barges. Candidate will be required to work out of Kittery, ME. *This position is contingent up on contract award*

Essential Job Responsibilities

The Project Manager will report to the Program Manager oversee day-to-day execution of the COMUSFLTFORCOM Berthing and Messing Program Operational Support contract in the Hampton Roads area, ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and timely delivery of maintenance and operational support for Duty Crew Berthing Barges. Lead all aspects of the contract including personnel management, task management, technical oversight, coordination of maintenance and repair, act as primary subject matter expert as required, and act as liaison with Government representatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive overseeing the execution of tasking for maintenance and repair to include installation, testing, maintenance, modification and inspections of shipboard systems
  • Must demonstrate 8 plus years of direct leadership, personnel management, and delivery of technical reporting or contract deliverables 
  • Experience coordinating and deploying service repair teams
  • Understanding of NAVSEA Standard Items, NFPA codes, OSHA regulations, and Navy maintenance processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of best marine engineering practices and proficiency to read drawings/blue prints and other technical documentation

Preferred Requirements

•    Knowledge of commercial and ABS regulations
•    Managing Navy or DoD programs for shipboard maintenance and repair
•    Knowledge of Federal Acquisition (FAR) and DoD procurement policies and procedures
•    PMP certification 

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. There will be 10 % Periodic travel to Hampton Roads, VA (Norfolk/Newport News/Portsmouth) and Gro
