Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager with a background in leading and overseeing a team of professional engineers and technicians, develop strategies, manage budgets, CER/(CapEx) Process and ensure successful project execution. This position will oversee production across all the shift 24/7 Manufacturing Operation. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, experienced and motivated for leading and collaborate multiple projects across diverse teams. Your primary focus will be on developing efficient processes, create and maintain manufacturing specifications as well as BOM’s, CER/(CapEx) Process submission, approval and tracking, executing effective strategies, and ensuring the timely completion of projects.Collaborating closely with various teams, you will ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, maintaining a high level of quality and adherence to organizational objectives.
This Engineering Manager position will report directly to the Redwood City Sr. Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of manufacturing processes related the production of wire and cable, tubing and compounding.
- Ensure accountability on his team to perform root cause investigations and execute corrective actions for non-conforming products using analytical tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and 8D.
- Coordinate efforts with his MS Group (Manufacturing Specifications) to write and update technical documentation, such as process instructions, BOM’s, reports, and plans.
- Lead cost reduction projects in cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate effectively with others across the organization to collectively achieve business objectives.
- Ensures a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Has a strong impact on Manufacturing Technology Roadmap to identify resource constraints addressing the CER /(CapEx) Process (submission, approval & execution tracking).
- Oversee both the manufacturing and engineering resources within the value stream.
- Participates in daily meetings with the value stream team aimed at identifying and resolving process issues quickly.
- Conducts daily audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure all safety, quality, and process standards are being followed.
- Ensures that the processes run by the manufacturing team are performing at the designed efficiencies.
- Responsible for capacity planning process and leads the implementation of new capacity when needed.
- Ensure that an effective communication system is in place through all levels of the value stream.
- Ensure that roles and expectations are informed throughout the entire engineering team.
- Oversee hiring, performance management, employee development, leadership and motivation for engineers and technicians.

- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial engineering.
- 8 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervision/management experience.
- Track record of project completions that deliver business results.
- Experience with automated control systems and computer science a plus.
- Knowledge of FMEA, Six Sigma Green Belt training (Black belt preferred), DOE, 8D/Continuous Improvement.
- Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Experience with products in military/aerospace is a plus.
