Mgr, Accounting

 Salary Range: $105,456.00 - $158,184.00 

 

 

Position Summary:

Bring your Accounting acumen and we’ll provide you with the opportunity to apply and further enhance your knowledge in audits, internal controls, general ledger, and cross-functional analysis.  This position will help drive operational efficiencies, cost reductions, process improvements, lean principles, and best-in-class reporting across the enterprise.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Manage the daily operations of the accounting team - including hiring and training
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Prepares and approves month-end journal entries and reconciliations for closing processes, ensuring transactions and reports are in accordance with GAAP
• Verifies the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements by investigating variances, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring all transactions, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and journal entries, are accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Analytical review of monthly financial statements that includes explaining budget to actual variances for reporting company and subsidiaries
• Manage annual audits and all other requirements for external auditors, including financial, tax, and workers compensation audits
• Assist with preparation of income tax, sales tax, and property tax
• Assists in annual preparation of budgets and analysis
• Develops good internal controls without adding unnecessary constraints
• Works with various departments across multiple companies to identify opportunities and drive improved profitability through cost reductions, operational efficiencies, and return on assets
• Mentor and Train Staff and Senior accountants

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance

• 2+ years of experience for a large/midsize public accounting firm and 5+ years of relevant experience as an accountant in private industry

• Strong knowledge of GAAP

• Familiar with Accounting Guidance, specifically ASC 842 and ASC 606

• Experience with organizations that generate multi-million dollar revenue  

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication

• Problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skill

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics

• CPA certification.

• Industry experience in manufacturing or retail

• 1+ year of managerial experience

• Proficient in Spanish
